๐ณ๏ธ What's better than an AirTag?
Back the one you'd actually clip to your keys.
The one to beat
Apple AirTag 2nd generation
Apple's second-gen tag: second-gen Ultra Wideband for Precision Finding, a speaker Apple says is 50 per cent louder, IP67 and a swappable coin battery. iPhone only.
Chipolo POP
Pick Apple Find My or Google Find Hub. Chipolo lists a ~120 dB ring and a replaceable coin battery. It replaced the ONE Spot.
Pebblebee Clip 5
Find My or Find Hub, USB-C rechargeable (no coin cells), bright LEDs and up to 150 m of Bluetooth range.
Tile Pro
Its own Tile + Life360 network, one app on iPhone and Android, up to 152 m range, a 110 dB+ ring and IP68.

โ๏ธ Who should pick which
๐ AirTag ifโฆ
- Everyone in your house is on iPhone
- You want the on-screen arrow to your keys (Precision Finding, iPhone 15 or later)
- You like the official price: A$49 at Apple AU
- Heads-up: there's no keyring hole, so budget for a holder14
๐ฌ Chipolo POP ifโฆ
- You're on Android โ or might switch one day (Find My or Find Hub, one at a time)
- You want it loud (~120 dB listed)
- You're happy swapping a coin cell about once a year
- IP55 is enough โ it's splash-proof, not a swimmer
๐ Pebblebee Clip 5 ifโฆ
- You'd rather charge over USB-C than buy coin cells
- You want LEDs to spot it in the dark
- You're on Android or iPhone (one network per tag)
- You don't mind ordering from Pebblebee's site and waiting on overseas shipping
๐ท Tile Pro ifโฆ
- Your household is a mix of iPhone and Android and you want everyone in the same app
- You want the toughest rating here (IP68) and the longest listed range (152 m)
- You like the built-in SOS button
- Know this: no precision finding, and stalker checks are a manual scan
Mixed household? Chipolo and Pebblebee can work with either phone, but each tag joins one network at a time โ an iPhone owner and an Android owner can't both track the same tag in their own apps. Tile works across both through the Tile / Life360 app.
